This Privacy Policy explains how HanCard ("we", "our", "us"), the developer of the FlashCard Chinese mobile application (the "App"), handles your information. We are committed to respecting your privacy and keeping your personal data to a minimum.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

No account system. The App does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information to use it.
No personal data collection. We do not collect, store, or sell any personal information about you.
No tracking. We do not use advertising identifiers, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics that identify you.

2. Data Stored On Your Device

Your flashcards, study progress, and app preferences are stored locally on your device only. They are never uploaded to any server by us and can be deleted at any time by removing the App.

3. OCR Scanning

When you use the camera to scan Chinese text, the recognition is performed on your device using Apple's on-device text recognition. Photos are processed locally and are not uploaded to any server.

4. Subscriptions & Purchases

Pro subscription features are purchased through the Apple App Store. Payment processing, subscription management, and refunds are handled entirely by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We use RevenueCat to verify and manage subscriptions; RevenueCat may receive non-personal purchase identifiers to confirm your subscription entitlement, and its handling of data is governed by RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

5. Notifications

If you enable study reminders, the App may request permission to send local notifications. Notifications are scheduled and delivered on your device; no notification data is sent to us.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is a general educational tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this page.
